Testimonials

In the world of lawyers and professionals, drugs and alcohol are more common than people think and I got caught up in it. After one heavy night in a hotel room, I came home to an empty house. My wife and two kids were gone. That’s when I knew I needed help.

A close friend told me he’d found a drug and alcohol consultant who was the real deal and that he was working with him himself. So I called Ruben. We had about four phone conversations before we finally met, and I quickly understood what my friend meant. Ruben’s passion for what he does is obvious, you can feel it.

Long story short, the sessions I did with Ruben turned out to be one of the best investments of my life. My wife and I are now in a great place. He even helped her through the process. I’m proud to say I’m now a graduate of the program and about to start giving back by helping others. I’ve already had a small taste of it, and I loved it.

Thank you, Ruben. I’ll be forever grateful.

As someone working in the medical profession, I never imagined I’d find myself battling drug addiction. It was a difficult chapter in my life. My best friend found Ruben and encouraged me to get in touch. At first, I wasn’t sure it took me a while to make that call. But after my first meeting with Ruben, I knew I was in the right place.

Three months after starting the program, I was involved in a serious car accident. The first thing the police did was drug test me and I was clean. If that had happened just a few months earlier, my 25-year career in medicine would have been over. That moment really showed me how far I’d come.

Today, I’m a proud graduate of the program and now I’m helping others on their own recovery journeys. I’m incredibly grateful for meeting Ruben and everything he’s done for me. I can’t wait to keep giving back and making a difference.

Two years ago, I was struggling with a serious cocaine addiction. I felt stuck and unsure of how to move forward. I had heard about Ruben from Get Help through family and friends, so I reached out and that decision changed my life.

Ruben supported me from day one. He listened, encouraged me, and gave me the tools I needed to take control of my recovery. One moment that really shifted my mindset was when Ruben took me to feed the homeless. Seeing others doing it tough made me realise how much I had to live for and how much I wanted to turn things around.

Today, I’ve been clean for over two years. I train six days a week, I feel strong, and I’m focused on building a better future. I’m truly grateful for everything Ruben has done for me and the ongoing support he’s given throughout my journey.

Working in construction, drug and alcohol use is pretty common and I fell deep into both. Things got out of control, and my partner eventually kicked me out because of my addiction. I was lost.

That’s when I called Ruben. After just one phone conversation, he told me he’d let me into the program but only if I was serious about recovery. His words stuck with me: “I only work with people who really want their recovery.” I knew I did.

Since then, I’ve turned my life around. I’m now a graduate of the program and have been clean for over 130 days. During this time, I had to go to court for my third drink driving charge. I honestly thought I was going to jail. Ruben came with me to court and supported me through it. Thanks to his help, the judge gave me a six-month license suspension and a $600 fine instead.

He didn’t just support me he also worked with my partner to help her understand how to support me through recovery. We’re both so grateful for everything Ruben has done. I’d highly recommend his services to anyone who’s ready to change their life.

My drug of choice was G. After getting out of jail, my parole officer gave me Ruben’s number and said, ‘This guy has real life experience he might be able to help.’ I contacted Ruben and completed the program.

Unfortunately, I relapsed. But even after I finished the program, Ruben stayed in contact with me and my partner. When I told him I’d relapsed and was facing jail time again, he didn’t hesitate he wrote a letter for court and allowed me to re-enter the program. I truly believe that letter played a big part in keeping me out of jail.

Ruben never turned his back on me. Like he always says, “I relapsed 10 times, Lee I know what it’s like.” That honesty meant everything. I can’t thank Ruben enough for what he’s done for me and my family. I look forward to the day I’m in a position to help others the way he helped me.
