Overcoming Heroin Addiction
Overcoming Heroin Addiction with Personalised, At-Home, Private Support
Heroin addiction can strip away your health, hope, and connection to others, but it doesn’t have to define your future. With the right support, recovery is absolutely possible.
At Get Help Global, we deliver compassionate at-home rehab programs that combine therapy, structure, and guidance to help you heal safely.
Ruben Mas, Get Help Global Founder, Drug and Alcohol & Wellbeing Consultant:
“You don’t need to wait for a rock bottom. Every day you choose change is a step toward a better life.”
What is Heroin?
Heroin is a powerful opioid derived from morphine. It creates feelings of warmth, calm, and relief but also rewires the brain’s reward system. The body quickly builds tolerance, and soon, using becomes about avoiding withdrawal rather than finding pleasure.

How Does Heroin Affect You?
Heroin slows everything down breathing, heart rate, thought, and emotion. Users often drift into a haze (“nodding off”) and lose interest in food, work, and family. Over time, heroin suppresses your natural ability to feel joy.
Carlos Camacho, Get Help Global Psychologist:
“Addiction often begins as an attempt to escape pain. Therapy helps people face that pain safely and rediscover purpose.”
Signs of Heroin Addiction
Common signs include:
- Drowsiness or nodding off
- Needle marks or skin sores
- Slurred speech and lack of focus
- Social withdrawal or loss of interest in hobbies
- Neglect of personal hygiene or responsibilities
Health Concerns With Heroin
Heroin use increases the risk of collapsed veins, infections, liver disease, and fatal overdose. It also fuels depression, anxiety, and deep shame. Physically, it breaks down the immune system; emotionally, it isolates you from everyone who cares.
Heroin Withdrawal Symptoms
Withdrawal can feel like the flu times ten muscle aches, sweating, restlessness, nausea, and depression. Without support, cravings and despair can drive relapse. With structured at-home rehab, symptoms become manageable and temporary.

How Do I Stop Using Heroin?
Our Drug Addiction Program provides therapy, medical guidance, and relapse prevention, all from the safety and comfort of your home. We help you rebuild daily structure, regain purpose, and repair relationships.
Ruben Mas, Get Help Global Founder, Drug and Alcohol & Wellbeing Consultant:
“We focus on helping people live again not just stop using.”
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to enter a rehab facility?
Not necessarily. Our mobile model allows you to recover privately at home or in a chosen location. If a short inpatient detox is medically indicated, we coordinate that step and continue support before and after.
How long does the drug recovery program last?
Programs are tailored. Some people begin with a focused four-week block. Others choose a structured ten-week drug addiction recovery program, with step-down aftercare for stability.
Will I need to detox?
If detox is needed, our GP will create a safe plan. We provide preparation, practical support during that period, and close follow-up to reduce relapse risk.
What does a week actually involve?
Expect a mix of therapy, mentor support, movement or yoga, and guided daily practices. We also set achievable goals between sessions so progress continues outside appointments.
Is it confidential?
Yes. Privacy and discretion are central to how we work. All contact is confidential and our team treats every client with respect and care.
